Snubbing Israel will harm peace
26% of Israelis: Obama's approach anti-Semitic
By Lior Ben-Ami
March 21, 2010
After the first year of Obama's presidency, it is now clear -- Obama is biased against Israel. It may be for tactical reasons, it may be because of personal dislike of Netanyahu's government, or ideology, but the fact remains.
During the presidential election campaign in 2008, many voices implied that then-candidate Barack Hussein Obama had a prejudice against Jews. They warned that as president, Obama would harm the strong U.S.-Israel alliance.
Some were worried because of Obama's education in a Jakarta madrasa. Some were more alarmed because of the hateful, rabid anti-Semitic remarks by the man Obama called "my mentor for 20 years," Jeremiah Wright.
Most of us at MidEastTruth.com didn't take these allegations seriously. From emails we received during the elections, and from posts on our forum, we knew that most people shared our belief that Obama was honest when he promised he'd keep the U.S.-Israel relationship as strong as ever. We believed him when he said that he never heard the hateful remarks of his mentor.
Today we're no longer so sure. These two photos speak volumes and were the first elements to shake our trust:
- Obama advisors said that he didn't really bow down to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia and that he lowered himself because he is much taller than the king. We believed them, but then we saw the video. . . It sure looks like a bow. Should the President of the U.S. bow to a tyrant?
- Many claimed that the photo of Obama with his feet on the table while speaking to Israel Prime Minister was just a photo, and shouldn't be taken too seriously. But there are two points to consider: first, the Obama administration is very calculating about every photo the White House releases. The release of this photo sends a message both to Israel and, even more so, to the Arab world. Obama is treating Netanyahu in a patronizing manner, with marked disrespect. The second point cannot be denied by even the strongest Obama supporter: a similar photo of Obama, speaking to Russia's Putin, Saudi Arabia's Abdullah or Egypt's Mubarak would never have been released to the press by the White House.
Add these elements to the Cairo speech, the preferential treatment of Arab and Muslim states and the fact that the strongest, harshest condemnations ever to be launched by Obama's administration were triggered by plans to build, at least two years from now, homes in a Jewish part of Jerusalem, and you get a dire picture. Neither murderous terror attacks nor Iran's promise to wipe Israel from the map have elicited similar orchestrated rebukes. While Obama repeatedly calls for a "strong dialogue" with Iran, he gives the coldest shoulder to Israel.
The lack of trust of Israelis in Obama and his administration has reached a record low.
On the Israeli television show "Meet the Press," broadcast on Israel's most watched channel (Channel 2), a poll was presented on March 21st, 2010:
The question in the poll is "What is the main reason for the crisis in the Israel-U.S. relations?"
The U.S. administration's policy - 30%
Prime Minister Netanyahu's actions - 27%
An anti-Semitic approach by President Obama - 26%
A too right-wing coalition in Israel - 17%
As we can learn from this poll, 56% of Israelis blame the U.S. for the crisis, while 44% blame their own government. The most alarming result is that 26% of all Israelis blame President Obama for an anti-Semitic approach towards Israel. This is a shocking figure. No American president made so many Israeli citizens so worried about his motivations. Ever.
These figures should worry Obama, because, as every American administration knows, the way forward in the peace process requires winning the hearts and minds of the Israeli public. Without public support, no Israeli government can take the risks and sign a deal, entailing painful concessions. Moreover, Obama's policy towards Israel makes the Palestinians more emboldened.
It is time for Obama and his administration to decide: do you see Israel as a sovereign state and a strong strategic ally, with some disagreements (as they keep declaring), or as a colony of the U.S., that must obey every dictate, without any consideration to the Israeli voters. If the former is true, it's time to prove it with actions.
What do you think? Is Obama biased against Israel? If so, why? Leave your comments below.
Obama is not an anti-Semite. He's simply an amateur, with no foreign affairs or diplomacy experience whatsoever!
He thinks that if he will be rude and abusive to Israel and polite and submissive to the Arabs and Muslim, they will like the USA better and that will help peace. He is dreaming!
His administration should be ashamed of the way they treat Israel!!! This is not a way to treat your friends!
He's only pushing the Palestinians to a more extreme position. They sit and enjoy seeing him yelling at Israel. They have no reason to move forward as long as Israel is getting all the blame.

Well, from the very get go of Obama's campaign, while happy that the US was finally making some progress on the racial front, I had worries... I was not sure what his attitude towards Israel would be and having listened to his honey dripping speeches, as well as the sycophantic, almost, attitude to please countries that had only until recently been on various blacklists, I thought to myself: "This is indeed a strategy, but NOT in the favor of either Israel or any other nation and movement that brazenly fights for its rights. This is a strategy directed to appease the West-hating Arab world and the communist world led by China - both tyrannical and habitual in human rights violations." What has the world come to? Truth grossly misconstrued, justice abandoned, and most importantly, constructive thought has been replaced by egotistical motives even if evil.
Then I was worried, now I'm anxious!

Obama is and has been biased against Israel long before he became president. His indoctrination began when he was a child and has continued until the present. The sad part about all this is that it is not just Israel, (which coincidentally is and always has been a Jewish State). Therefore, it behooves us to realize that it is not only Israel that he is biased against but also mainly Judaism. It should come as no surprise. He was trained well by Isaiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan and by various other anti-Semites.
His “Jewish” advisors are simply tools, who are no different from the Vichy French under the leadership of Marshal Philippe Pétain, or Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain of Great Britain; of World War II. Obama even groveled before the Saudi King, for the world to see.
Why should he support Israel? The Jews have no oil fields; they do not even have as much money as the Arabs. We can use, and lie to the Jews, squeeze them dry and when they are no longer capable of bleeding money, favors, or influence, then crush them and dispose of them. Jews have been, are presently, and will ever be dispensable until no Jew is left. That is presently and has always been Barak Hussein Obama’s agenda.

Whoever you are at "mideasttruth.com":
I know you don't like Obama. Fine. You are entitled to your opinion.
BUT...on what do you base the picture of him talking on the phone with his feet on the desk (the same thing that Richard Nixon and others were pictured with their feet on the desk) that he was, in fact, talking to Netanyahu? I've seen this type of photo before.
Prove to me that he is talking with the Israeli prime minister. Of course you can't, so what you are doing is a lot of crap anti-Obama bullshit.
I am a Jew. I love Israel. However, we don't need propagandists like you to make up lies and distortions about Israel. And the picture of Obama bowing? You don't fool anyone with this one either! Anything can be taken out of context. You quote NO ONE to back up your anti-Obama filth.
You criticize Others who defame Israel. Your approach will only aid their anti-semitism.
Thank you for your email.
Liking or disliking Obama has nothing to do with anything. What we don't like is the way he's treating Israel - a democratic ally of the U.S. - and her leaders. As we wrote, we did believe him during the campaign and hoped his policy will be different.
Before accusing us with such harsh words, it would have been better to learn the facts.
The photo, along with the description: "President Barack Obama talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a phone call from the Oval Office, Monday, June 8, 2009. Official White House Photo by Pete Souza.", was released by the White House itself. As we wrote:
The Obama administration is very calculating about every photo the White House releases. The release of this photo sends a message both to Israel and, even more so, to the Arab world. Obama is treating Netanyahu in a patronizing manner, with marked disrespect. The second point cannot be denied by even the strongest Obama supporter: a similar photo of Obama, speaking to Russia’s Putin, Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah or Egypt’s Mubarak would never have been released to the press by the White House.
"… A photo released by the White House, which shows Obama talking on the phone with Netanyahu on Monday, speaks volumes: The president is seen with his legs up on the table, his face stern and his fist clenched, as though he were dictating to Netanyahu: "Listen up and write 'Palestinian state' a hundred times. That's right, Palestine, with a P." As an enthusiast of Muslim culture, Obama surely knows there is no greater insult in the Middle East than pointing the soles of one's shoes at another person. Indeed, photos of other presidential phone calls depict Obama leaning on his desk, with his feet on the floor."
Tue Mar 23, 2010 7:19 pm Is President Obama anti-Israel
The New Strategy for US-Moslem relations is the game plan for President Obama. I thought it was all his idea. Now I can understand how Intellectuals can be blinded by their pie-in the-sky statements about Peace, and convince others to follow their ideas.
I just skimmed through this wordy document but I wonder how they justify their bias. On page 49 they write:
"US diplomacy to resolve regional conflicts needs to be coordinated with key regional and global partners. For engaging Iran, key partners include the UN Security Council,European Allies,China, Russia, India and Japan; For the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, the Quartet, the Arab League, and the Organization of the Islamic Conference; for Iraq, the UN Security Council, and Iraq's neighbors; and for Afghanistan, the UN, NATO, and the EU, as well as Pakistan".
Who is supposed to speak for Israel's needs and viewpoint? The deck is stacked to favor the vast number of Muslim nations. Where are the Muslim leaders, who do not believe the end justifies the means. Killing Jewish men, women and children is celebrated by passing out candy, and gala festivities, since we are told to believe it is the act of "freedom fighters". We must not call them "Terrorists". which is politically incorrect, although quite accurate.
They describe the cause of the Israeli-Palestinian problem as due to Israeli occupation of Palestinian land. The correct term is "disputed land", and was part of the negotiations mandated by the UN. Already the bias is shown, and there will be no negotiation, for Israel's fate. It will be decided by the Quartet and the Arab League.
We all need to write to our Senators and Representatives to ask if they have read the report, and whether they are willing to sacrifice our homeland security to curry favor with Muslim nations. We have a Fifth Column in our midst who influences our government. We need to study Sharia law to learn what life will be like under Muslim rule. If we neglect doing the research to learn what our foreign policy is striving to accomplish, we may find President Obama's "Changes" are not what we expected.
Note the BIG NAMES who wrote the report included major players ---Madeline Albright, Gen Anthony Zinni, and lots of other BIG players. Are we surrounded by internal enemies? This is scary. Selling out our freedom to Islam, so that we may all be conquered, and become part of the World Caliphate. The report is at the following: http://www.usmuslimengagement......inting.pdf
Who is calling the plays is not clear, but I hope for Israel's sake we need to stop listening to others, and do what benefits Israel.
